Basics of ODR:  HSI offers training in the basics of online dispute resolution, based on the two fundamental responsibilities of third parties:   managing communication and facilitating information sharing.  A full course description can be found here:  ODR Basics.  For more information contact HSI directly through the contact page on this website.

ODR Certification:  ODR training with ICFML is, we think, the best ODR training in the world.  It features 12 weeks of training using four training modes:  self paced learning, asynchonous discussions with ODR experts, live training and discussion sessions, and hands-on experience in the use of video, audio, and text communication channels.  This training is designed to meet the standards publishd by the International Mediation Institute (IMI), the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution (NCTDR), and the International Council for Online Dispute Resolution (ICODR).  A full description of the course can be found here:  ODR Cert.  For more information, contact us at HSI through the contact page on this website.

NVMS ODR Basics:  Through the Northern Virginia Mediation Service (NVMS), HSI offers an ODR basics course that is similar in format to the Basics of ODR class offered directly through HSI.  the NVMS course is designed to help mediators who work with the courts adjust their mediation practice to online environments, and to help organizations convert to and be effective using online tools for dispute resolution.  A full description of the NVMS course can be found here:  NVMS ODR.

Online Negotiation:  HSI offers basic training in negotiation techniques, focused on an interest based approach.  The training covers traditional negotiation topics, and also covers the use of online technology for negotiation.  A full description of the negotiation course can be found here:  Negotiation.

Instant Mediation:  HSI partners with Instantmediation.com to offer basic ODR training.  Participants who complete the IM training will be eligible for inclusion of the IM e-mediator roster.  A full description of the IM training can be found here:  IM ODR.
